I’ve spent hours researching accommodations for my husband’s birthday wish of walking a portion of the Camino with our kids. Have you ever encountered families in the hostels? I’ve only focused on private accommodations since we are a family of five but just curious what you’ve seen.
I have indeed seen families on the Camino—though not often and usually just a father daughter pair or sisters or grandfather/father/child. The larger families were with older kids (20s+). And I’ve seen a couple that had their newborn with them! So yes, families of all sorts do the Camino but not as commonly as those of us who go alone or with just one other person.
Great article. So much to think about. When I do my next one, I’d love to mix up the accommodations a little bit. I feel like I really want to experience the Albergue piece at least once.

What a great write-up, I’m ready to try this adventure!
It’s ready for you any time of year!
I remember your dad telling me that he is most happy if he can get his pasta bolognese, as he did in Molinaseca last year.
Yes--and it was a big deal for me to learn that he can actually survive without it as well, lol.
Of course, I love it , !!
